Column: Trump running in 2024 is a dream come true for Democrats. He’s the weakest candidate out there — he’s a third party in a presidential election, which is a no-no for Democrats. And to be in his position with an election coming up, you’d imagine he’d have some experience with the political world. But he’s had none.
I think the Democrats are all laughing.
That’s the problem: they’re laughing at him. What they’re laughing about is that they think they could actually have the president they want. And to a very powerful degree, that’s the problem with the Trump White House. They have no experience in governing; they have no experience in policy; they have no experience in campaigning; they have no experience in what it takes to be a president. And that, more than anything, is what’s going to get them hurt down the line.
Democrats are in for a surprise election — in 2024, or 2021, or 2028, depending on how you look at it. Because they’re going to win, and then they’re going to get hurt.
The Democrats are in for a surprise election. They are going to win. They are going to have a very good candidate, and then they will be in for a very bad reelection. They can’t have all their cake and eat it too.
So who is this candidate they’re going to have?
Well, what I said is that this candidate will have all of the attributes that Trump lacks. He will have run a campaign in which he did everything that he could to make people hate himself. He did everything that he could to make people hate his opponent. He has no experience governing, and has no experience in policy, and has no experience in campaigning. But he’ll have a campaign in which all of his actions will be designed to give people the most possible reason to hate him. And it’s a very effective campaign. He’s done it on and off and in various phases for the last year and a half.
His people have said that he’s doing it to boost his ratings on television, which is a reason to hate him on TV and in the
